The Shower Party

Alieving the pain of homelessness, starts with dignity.

In Atlanta, Georgia, the “Hope Thru Soap” charity offers free showers, clean clothes, a haircut, and a smile to those most in need.

Every Saturday, volunteers visit different locations in the city with a specially designed shower bus.
They also offer hygiene items, fresh clothing, haircuts, school supplies and plenty of hugs.

The volunteers also break out the music, games, and barbecue,
turning the event into a big block party for the homeless.

Once showered, shaved, dressed, and fed, the stories of the most needy people in the city, begin to emerge.

Founder Jason Winter started “Hope Thru Soap” in 2016, after hosting a winter clothing drive. As he got to know the locals in need, he learned that what they wanted most, was a shower.

So, he bought a shower trailer and hitched it to his SUV.

Since then, the charity has grown, and a second shower bus now doubles their weekend efforts.

The charity doesn’t strive to end homelessness, but serves to remind the homeless, that someone cares and offers them connections to services that can help.

“Hope Thru Soap” is delivering hope and humanity, one shower at a time.
